PRESERVING

Before the modern supermarkets, and most people had gardens, patches and or window gardens, preserving or canning was popular.

Even now, in the cellars of older farm houses you might still find jars filled with fruits and or  vegetables.

This was our grandparents/great grandparents way of having vegetables during the long winter months.

I'm sure many "older" people remember their grandmother or even their mother making peach preserves, jelly or jam.  In fact, I still have friends who preserve their sauces. pickles, etc.

Yes, it might take a little work, but the results are well worth the labor.
