We have something new

A series of
"5 budget meal recipes"
for just $1.00!

These meals include budget, slow cooker ideas, desserts, holidays, casserole, low fat, kids meals and more.

When was the last time you and your family sat down together for a meal and actually looked at each other?  Not the top of their heads with the clacking noise as they texted or played a game.  When was the last time you had a family night together?

In these hard economic times, it's time to go back to the past...give up the daily fast foods, and have family time together, get to know what's going on in each others lives.

My children are grown now and have children of their own, but when they were younger, we always had dinner together.  One of my fondest memories is being locked out of the house, with the kids inside.  Like any parent, I thought the worst...who was there that should not have been, what were they doing, they should not have been doing?  When the door was finally unlocked, my eldest son, dress in his Sunday best, met me at the door with a towel on his arm and handed me a menu.  The kids had cooked dinner for me.

Anyone who lives in New England knows what our winters are like.  One blustery, cold snowy day, we had a picnic on the living room floor.  I spread a red and white checkered cloth, made chicken, potato salad, hot dogs and lemonade.  We sat on the floor and had fun pretending it was a warm, sunny afternoon.

Do my kids remember?  Yes they do, as asked my eldest son if he remembered.  Sometimes it's the little things we remember most.

So, now is the time for you to make memories, not only for yourslf, but for your children.  These things they will pass along to their kids...little thing which can mean so much.
